This week marked the beginning of the GeorgeFest celebrations in the nearby town of Eustis, Florida. GeorgeFest is the longest running festival that celebrates the birthday of George Washington in the state of Florida, and is usually held in the last weekend of February. The festival is held in the heart of Downtown, Eustis and features live music, food, parade, vendors, and fireworks. This year’s celebrations are from February 25th- February 28th.
In Mount Dora, on Saturday February 27, there will be a craft fair in Donnelly Park from 11 am -4pm where various vendors will be out selling their crafts. The Mount Dora History Museum will also be having an exhibit from 1pm-4pm on the old firehouse and city jail.
Oak Haven Farms in Sorrento will be having their 25th Anniversary Celebration on February 27 (9am-5pm) and 28 (10am-4pm). This celebration features U-Pick Strawberries, Hay Rides, Pony Rides and more.
A Little Bit Of Life Farm in Mount Dora will also be hosting a farm tour and experience on February 28th from 10am-2pm.
There will also be a major event in Apopka on Sunday, February 28th. It is the Vegan Food &Wine Festival from 11:00am -7:00pm at the Apopka Amphitheater.
Every Sunday in Mount Dora there is a Farmer’s Market at the end of 4th Avenue which is definitely worth checking out. They have great produce and vendors!
